Tomorrow we are headed off to Pearson, WI for the first race of the season the Dirty Dog Dryland Derby!  It’s a 4.5 hour drive on two lane highways I’m not looking forward to but should be worth it by the time we get to race. We registered for the 2 dog bikejoring, 1 dog bikejoring, and the 1 dog canicross.  I’m bringing four dogs; Toivo, Valor, Magnus, & Helena.  The plan is to run Valor and Magnus for the 2 dog bikejoring, Valor for the 1 dog bikejoring, and Magnus for the 1 dog canicross.  Toivo is there for backup in case it warms up too much.  He’s pretty good at pacing himself so that he doesn’t overheat like Valor or Magnus.  The dogs are tapered and ready to run fast, Helena is coming for team support and to help keep us warm in the tent!
