The Snow is Gone!
Wow, our snow cover sure went fast! Warm temps in early March reaching into the low 60’s F took a toll on our sled training for the season. We were hoping to get some training in on the sled working with young leaders to supplement our aging team. The dogs have had a good three weeks off to recover from a great training season. We were able to get in over 1,200 miles in their legs this year.
The county has closed the gate on our road and it’s nearly impossible to get around it with larger teams so we will start free running in 6-8 dog groups this week.
Our ATV has needed some repairs the CV boots were cracked and needed to be replaced along with all four ball joints in the front end. It should be up and running as soon as the parts come in and we can resume harness training working with some of the yearlings up in lead when the road restrictions are lifted.
It’s amazing to see how much snow we had last year compared to this year! These are photos from almost one year apart.
Puppies!
We have three planned breedings this year to supplement our racing team for years to come. Our older vets are starting to reject speed training. They are still really good dogs and will be there to train youngsters, give rides, and who knows maybe race some mid-distance 😉
Our first litter of pups is due on May 28th, Ari X Mindy. If you are interested in purchasing pups from one of our planned litters please contact us for more information.
