The statistics do not lie, since we have moved here just two years ago we’ve had the most snowfall both winters! Not to mention this year was the coldest winter ever recorded in Duluth.
Plowing my 1.5 mi road with the ATV was a learning experience last year. We received so much snow last April (51″) in such a short amount of time I couldn’t move the snow anywhere. My snow banks were almost 5 feet high and the road was reduced to a narrow single lane. When the wind kicked up after the last storm the road drifted in leaving me stranded for 5 days. For two weeks I had to hitch a ride to work taking the snowmobile out to the end of the road.
Uffda! This year was just as crazy with our first snowfall of the year coming early December leaving 32″ over three days. I rolled the ATV in the deepest ditch on the road plowing during that storm and was lucky to come out alive! I had a few friends with plow trucks come out and try to move some snow back for me and we did okay. A big thank you to them for helping.
It would be ideal to have a giant snowblower to get rid of the snow. Creating snowbanks really limit your options. Think it’s time to get a big plow truck? Yep.
